Relationship maintenance
Luke 10:27 (NLT)
He replied: “‘You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul [20], with all your strength, and with all your mind!’ And: ‘You shall love your neighbor as yourself!’” –
About 2 months ago I came across this verse again and started to think about it. I asked myself how I could put this request into practice. At first I thought that it was only possible to put it into practice if I could love and accept myself. I thought that it was up to me and that I simply had to do more.
Then I came across a different approach on LiveNet. There I read that the key to implementing this verse lies in the relationship with the triune God. When I have a "living" relationship with Jesus, the Holy Spirit and God the Father.
So I started asking myself how I could intensify my relationship with HIM, in addition to my quiet time, and started my own project.
I resolved to pray several times throughout the day. But then I realized that I couldn't do it. The day went by and my job and daily demands didn't allow it. And when I lay in bed in the evening and reflected on the day, I realized that I hadn't managed it again.
I needed a tool to support me. So I set the alarm on my cell phone to ring every two hours and I found that this way it is possible to seek Jesus during the day and intensify my relationship with him.
But as the days went by, I noticed that it can be difficult to turn the alarm off again. As a driver in passenger transport, it is not always possible for me to take my cell phone out of my pocket. My full attention is on the traffic and the people I am transporting.
So optimization was needed.
Today, after 2 months, I set the alarm on my smartwatch. No ringtone, just vibration. And when the watch buzzes, I "usually" go to pray. In silence, of course, and without closing my eyes.
I've had to give up the idea that prayer "in between" would become a habit, something that happens automatically. I need the clock's reminder.
But I wouldn't want to miss it anymore. Because I'm experiencing a change that I never thought possible.
But I don’t want to say anything about that, I just want to make you hungry (give you a taste) to try it out for yourself.
I have spoken about miracles the last few times and prayer is the key.
Luke 11:9 (NLT)
Therefore I say to you, ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and the door will be opened to you.
10 For everyone who asks receives, and he who seeks finds, and to him who knocks the door will be opened.
Be blessed!
