Dear reader,
The question of contentment has been a very big topic in my life lately. I had depressions for many years and as a result had a very negative image of myself and my future. Since I was able to experience God again in October, I have felt much better. I had new courage and new hope because I knew God was with me.
Since then, God has done many great things for me. I made new friends, started exercising again, got rid of addictions. Above all, I was able to allow God to work on me. I was able to allow God to deal with the big wound in my life, which arose when my father left at the age of 6 and was so overwhelmed with his situation afterwards that he could no longer take care of me and my sister, canceling visits at short notice or simply not showed up. It went so far that he claimed my sister was me and not his children. This has left huge scars in my heart that I've numbed for years with weed and pornography.
But since I was rebaptized and returned to God, I could begin this painful process of forgiveness.
Earlier this month I started a new job and had to strip down to the bare minimum to get by. I was so exhausted after work that I didn't have the strength to cook or clean up, let alone meet friends or anything like that. I became more and more angry with myself and with God and had the feeling that everything good was slowly disappearing from my life. Today I was able to learn again that the most important thing was still there, namely Jesus. It's ok not to get things right, it's ok if things don't feel good, but it's not ok to disconnect with God. I had to ask God for forgiveness today because I lost focus on Him and got angry with God.
God has a good plan for me and for you. The promise He has for us in the Bible is true.
Today I want to encourage you and me to keep your focus on God and His truth.
