Dear readers,
In my last post I announced that I wanted to change direction in terms of the content of my posts. So there will be fewer admonitions and more about big and small miracles. More about God and how I experience my relationship with him.
About 6 weeks ago I started setting the alarm on my cell phone to go off every 2-3 hours. A reminder that I should pray. Since I am on the road a lot for work as a driver, there are always times when I can say a short, sometimes longer, prayer. The content of these prayers is often just gratitude for all the things God has done in my life so far. Sometimes I also say a blessing for the driver who is creeping along in front of me at 30 km/h. During these times of prayer, I reach out to God inside and seek his closeness. You could say that I nurture our relationship. And I experience something tremendous for myself. I experience a breadth in my thoughts and my soul that surpasses everything that has existed before. An inner peace and the knowledge that God has a good plan for me and my life. And I have no problem accepting it.
Since I didn't have to work today and the weather was fantastic, I set off by car with no particular destination in mind. To take a drive through the Swiss villages. After just a few kilometers I was in the middle of nature. This vastness that I often feel in my thoughts took on a different meaning for me today. This bright green, the flowers and the fields, the trees in the shade and in the sun did my soul good in a very special way. Our wonderful Creator led me out of the city and into the vastness of nature. There in nature, in the middle of nowhere, I was able to recharge my batteries and gain new energy for the coming days. And it is clear to me that experiencing the peace and quiet in nature has something to do with the closeness I was able to establish with Jesus and the Father. I am simply overwhelmed.
